A Peek Inside Meditation

I have added meditation into my daily routine for about 2 years now and it has 100% changed my life. Sometimes it is only 5-10 minutes of my day, but I make a point to fit it in because I have seen how it has changed me. 


Meditation is a type of mind-body complementary therapy that has been practiced for thousands of years. There are many varieties of meditation, all of which help to produce a deeper state of relaxation and tranquility. Generally, meditation is practiced alone, however, group or guided meditation is also widely practiced (and will be done at the Empowered retreat!). Neither require a practitioner. The practice allows you to focus your attention and quiet the mind, promoting stress reduction. The end result is enhanced physical and emotional well-being. Types of meditation include yoga, guided meditation, mantra meditation, qi gong, transcendental meditation, and

mindfulness meditation.


I like to meditate by myself, and I usually use a free app (Calm, Breath, Simple Habit) or I go to youtube and find a free one there. 


I have noticed I am better at handling stress, my focus improves, and the clarity and intention I am able to bring to my day has drastically improved.  I really like the fact that meditation draws me into the present moment, which is something I struggle with during the day. Meditation makes me focus on my breathing, my body, my thoughts, and my intentions.
